韋斯布魯克開季3場比賽合計攻下116分、37籃板、35助攻，是NBA史上第一位能在開季前3場比賽就能締造100分、30籃板、30助攻的球員。
杜蘭特在與太陽之戰中轟進37分，籃板、助攻與抄截各4次，帶領勇士106比100贏得2連勝，連續67場得分超過20分，此成就NBA排名第三，僅次於「籃球大帝」喬丹保持的連續72場與69場NBA前二紀錄。
喬丹曾在1987-88球季創下連續72場得分超過20分的NBA紀錄，1990-91球季再次寫下連續69場得分超過20分的NBA次佳紀錄。4度拿下得分王頭銜的杜蘭特，即便上季在雷霆過得不是很順心，但他的攻擊火力依舊相當耀眼，本季轉戰勇士，絲毫沒有不適應的樣子，儼然有超越史提芬柯瑞，成為勇士當家一哥的架式。
騎士「小皇帝」詹姆斯曾稱讚杜蘭特有可能超越湖人名宿「天勾」賈霸保持的NBA最多得分紀錄，可見得杜蘭特的得分能力是當前NBA之最，如無意外，杜蘭特有機會在未來兩周內正式超越喬丹，將連續得分超過20分的場次紀錄拿在手中。
